BwCF Alumni QUICK LINKS

About The Alumni Program

The Alumni Program continues the warm personal community and the rich array of educational resources that students experienced while attending Beginning with Children Charter School and Community Partnership Charter School. Our program encompasses the following areas:

Academic and Personal Development
We offer academic and social support to ensure that our graduates experience success in school and in life. We provide weekly tutoring in math and science and workshops on study habits and time management skills. In addition, we hold group discussions on peer pressure, health and wellness and stress reduction.

Career and Cultural Exploration
We expose our alumni to opportunities beyond their neighborhoods through mentoring, internships, and cultural trips throughout New York City. We also provide one-on-one guidance to help students create resumes, to network and to find jobs. Students have participated in internships at organizations such as Mount Sinai Hospital, NY Civil Rights Coalition, Brooklyn Children's Museum and Prospect Park Zoo.

College Access
We provide extensive support to our alumni and their families when the time comes to choose a college, and we help them successfully navigate the college admissions and financial aid process. We also offer our students SAT preparation courses, workshops on essay writing and interview techniques.
