Supporting Achievement in High School
The Alumni Program provides students with information, encouragement and the resources they need to succeed in college. Every year, we conduct college tours to expose students to the variety of options available to them in higher education and provide a 10-week summer internship program to prepare students for their careers. To prepare students for college admissions, students and parents attend workshops on the college application and the financial aid process several times a year. We also offer our students SAT preparation courses, workshops on essay writing and interview techniques.
Young professionals from the BwCF Leadership Council mentor individual high school juniors and seniors, guiding them step-by-step through the college application process.
Once our alumni are accepted to college, we help them develop the skills necessary to succeed. We provide workshops on time management, studying, note-taking, writing, test-taking, decision-making, problem solving, critical thinking, career exploration, money management and cultural sensitivity.
