Alex Torres, BwCCS '06


Alexandria Torres has learned that when you work hard in school, life presents you with options. With an impressive score of 2250 on her SATs, which placed her in the 95th percentile nationwide, and a solid 4.0 GPA, Torres was given the option of a full, four-year scholarship to Lehman College’s McCauley Honors Program or a generous scholarship package to Skidmore College. Andrew Gonzalez, BwCCS '07


Andrew Gonzalez has received early acceptance to Columbia University and funding to cover the entire cost of his education. Gonzalez currently attends the Concord Academy in Concord, Massachusetts. While in the sixth grade at BwCCS, he was accepted into the TEAK program, which helps talented students throughout New York City succeed in high school and college. He was also the first male valedictorian at BwCCS. He credits BwCCS school counselor Margie Pardo for encouraging him to take advantage of all opportunities. Read More

Khadijah Owens, BwCCS '07


While many high school students daydream about prom and graduation, 17-year-old Khadijah Owens is focused on changing the world. "I want to pursue international law and eventually work for the United Nations as a diplomat," said Owens, a Beginning with Children Charter School (BwCCS)'07 alumna who is now a senior at the prestigious Phillips Academy Andover.
