You can also sign up for our Alumni Message board! Click HERE for more information! |
| How do I find out more about colleges? The Alumni Program offers workshops on the college admission process, from the initial planning period to creating a successful college application. Alumni are also eligible to participate in our annual college tour, an opportunity to visit a broad range of colleges in New York and other states. You can begin your own research by visiting different colleges on the internet. Most schools will have web site addresses that end with EDU. For example: www.wesleyan.edu, www.columbia.edu, www.cuny.edu. Barron College Guide, Fisk College Guide and Parson's College Guide are all useful books. There is also a service provided by the Princeton Review called Counselor-O-Matic that can help you narrow your search. Enter in details about yourself and the website will suggest schools to you. Just remember to be careful about the information you give about yourself online. Please see our Alumni Information Page for more ideas. |
|
| Can you help me with financial aid for college? In order to apply for financial aid, you must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You can either fill out a hard copy or go through the FAFSA interactive web site, at www.fafsa.ed.gov. There are many opportunities available for you if you are pursuing a scholarship. The best way to begin is by researching. Check out www.fastweb.com, a great listing of available scholarships, or visit your local library. The Alumni Program also holds financial aid workshops for those interested in attending college. In these workshops, alumni and their families learn about financial aid packages, scholarships and methods of funding a college education. Please see our Alumni Information Page for more ideas. |
